As some of you may know, Wright-Hennepin will be conducting its 75th Annual Meeting on March 29. For those of you who haven’t attended this event, you’re missing out on some valuable energy-saving information as well as fun events and prizes.
There are many reasons to attend this meeting – aside from the free pork chop dinner – including learning how to save energy.
Stop by and see me at the MyMeter and money saving ideas booth to view a demonstration of an online tool that can help you understand your home’s energy use. By understanding your energy use, it will be much easier for you to cut it back. Additionally, we’ll be selling energy-efficient LED bulbs again this year.
The Off-Peak programs booth will provide you with information on money-saving electric home heating, water heating and air conditioning programs.
WH will also be introducing a new payment program at the meeting called “Pay As You Go.” Through this program, members pre-pay for electricity, allowing you to adjust the amount of energy you use to meet your budget. Because users of this type of program are more aware of what their energy use is costing them, studies have shown that other utilities’ customers who use similar services reduce their energy use by 10-12 percent.
To assist you with saving energy, WH will be giving away a free, energy-efficient CFL to every attending member after a short business meeting at 7 p.m.
In addition to energy-saving information, the event will also include booths with information on tree-trimming services, renewable energy and customer service assistance, fun activities for children ages two through 10, dinner theatre performances, many historical displays to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the cooperative and much more.
So whether you want to learn more about saving energy, enjoy a family-friendly night out or just want a free dinner on us, stop by Wright-Hennepin’s Rockford headquarters on March 29. You’ll leave with a full stomach and a brain full of ways Wright-Hennepin is out there doing what we can to make your life a little easier and help save you money on your energy bill.
